What People Say
“Crafting coral has allowed us to engage further with general public which is essentials in our line of work. It has also enabled us to display our corals better in our reef tanks in the coral lab.”
Andre Saputra
Founder & Director of Indonesia Biru Foundation, Lombok, Indonesia
“The students made wonderful ceramic creations and all have used knowledge from the Crafting Coral experience in their exam questions to great success. Students are now much more knowledgeable and confident in their coral topic. It’s also a memorable experience that has brought Geography and the possible careers to life.”
Alice Noble
Head of Humanities, Lilian Bayliss School of Technology
“While trying to find a spot to drop our anchor, we came across a local fisher handlining off his small boat. He cracked a smile – “thank you for planting the corals, now I can catch fish here again”. It’s refreshing to witness first-hand the positive impact felt by the locals, especially in collaborative and small-scale conservation efforts like this.”
Made Abiyoga
Marine conservationist, Indonesia
“The Crafting Coral ceramic workshop was a new and enjoyable way to introduce us to an uncommon topic and fully grasp our attention and understanding in a way that allowed us to feel welcomed and comfortable.”

“I really enjoyed the workshop as it was a unique way to present a project that students can be involved in once we’re older and also to present a ‘call to action’ in a fun and resonating way. The workshop leaders were also friendly and made a comfortable environment where all students could have discussions and express themselves through their creations.”

Our Pay-It-Forward program empowers Bali’s communities and the next generation to take part in hands-on reef restoration. Your contribution sponsors a participant from Yayasan Peduli Kemanusiaan Bali to join a Crafting Coral Workshop, where they learn to hand-build their first ceramic CoralPod and discover how these small structures support coral reef restoration. Once completed, each CoralPod is donated to our marine conservation partners and used in real restoration projects.
