FAQ

Crafting Coral is an organisation dedicated to regenerating coral with ceramics and the community. We implement our specialist workshop at ceramic studios and build partnerships with coral regeneration projects that plant the ceramic CoralPods made by participants. This replaces materials like steel and plastic cable ties in the process. It’s all clay, and it’s all about education and regeneration.

100% of the money donated to Crafting Coral goes back into the organisation, supporting our mission to regenerate reefs. This means running workshops for underserved communities, upgrading our operations, and planting more corals.

We currently have both the ceramic and planting workshop in Sanur, Bali, and Patina, Maldives. The planting workshop is also available in Kecinan Bay, Lombok with our partners Indonesia Biru Foundation.

The ceramic workshop is suitable for all ages, and we recommend age 7+ for the planting workshop.

We aren’t always able to accept volunteers but you can drop us an email at info@craftingcoral.com to express your interest. Every hand helps in supporting our mission!

You do not need a PADI license to join our planting workshop. We invite you to snorkel and free dive, where the coral nursery is roughly 3 metres from the surface. If getting into the water isn’t your thing, join the fragmenting team on the boat or land!

We aren’t scientists, so you don’t have to be either. Working with marine biology experts who have spent years refining the process of planting coral, you’ll be in good hands.

Yes. Via our Donorbox, you can choose how much you would like to donate to support our mission. We are grateful for every donation that enables us to continue our work.
