In September 2024, Rumah Hujan opened its ibuku-designed doors to the next generation of ocean stewards. Kids from all walks of life were invited to get curious, get messy, and get involved in coral propagation, a small but mighty act of ocean care.
The day began with wide eyes and open minds as they learned about the threats our reefs are facing, from warming seas to pollution. After a short demo and lots of questions, the kids rolled up their sleeves and dove into clay. Each one sculpted their own CoralPod, mini homes for coral fragments, shaped by hand, imagination, and hope.
Every CoralPod was later fired and prepared to be planted in the ocean by the Indonesia Biru Foundation, where they’ll host new coral growth and help rebuild fragile reef ecosystems.
