Chelsea Pensioners

Our London outreach team had the privilege of spending the day at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, leading a coral restoration workshop with the Chelsea Pensioners.

Many of the Pensioners had spent time in Southeast Asia during their military service, and their reflections on the region’s climate and coastlines added a powerful layer of personal history to the day.

Each participant built their own coral propagation device by hand, then explored our coral nursery in Sanur through virtual reality—an experience brought to life by Gabriela from Diverseas, whose work transformed the underwater site into an immersive digital journey.

It was a meaningful afternoon of craftsmanship, conversation, and connection – a big thank you to Emily Chilvers and the Chelsea Pensioners.
